Storage Manager Read Only?

I am curious if Storage Manager will need read-only access to my NetApp systems?

I would like to do a trial of Storage Manager; however, I am concerned about attaching it to my NetApp's in my production environment.  If I can confirm that its read-only access then I would be more comfortable.
