WMI in Memory CPU spike

Okay what came first the memory or CPU spike? We are trying to capture CPU spikes on a device polling WMI. We see the spike in our dashboard and charts but when we click on realtime process explorer we are not seeing the CPU spiked at 100% on any running in memory executable. We are trying to see what is causing the CPU 100% spikes but don't seem to be able to catch the root cause. We have lowered the polling rate to every 10 seconds but still not luck.

Any ideas would be great.
