Sustained Thresholds, Sort of...

Hey all

We use SAM to monitor some services on some (IMO rather ****) applications, that at best can be described as flaky!  The Application Polls every 2 minutes and we have set the trigger to only alert if the condition exists for 15 minutes. However despite this we still get lots of "False Positive" alerts where the service reports as being down, but it is still running,

Now I know we can set sustained thresholds for things like CPU, Memory etc. but not for up \ down state of a service. So is there a way to essentially have a sustained threshold for the service when it is down for 4 out of 5 polls, as I'm hoping this will cut down on the amount of false positive alerts...

Alternatively happy to hear some other ideas!

Thanks in advance

Pete
