CISCO VCS & LEM logging connectivity

Is there anybody who can point me in the right direction concerning correctly configuring logging from the Cisco VCS to the LEM Manager?  I am using VCS control and expressway versions 8.5 and LEM version 6.2.  The process in the documentation is as simple as configuring logging on the VCS under Maintenance>Logging and pointing the VCS to the LEM ip address as the logging server.  I do this.  When I go to the LEM and attempt to add a new node, I select Cisco as the vendor and point the LEM to the VCS device IP address.  The LEM fails to find the VCS no matter how I configure the logging at the VCS (BSD, IETF, UDP, TLS, TCP, etc...).  Can anybody point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance.
