Ok, I have Adobe Acrobat DC 2015 (Classic) installed. Version number is 2015.006.30060.
It was installed via msiexec command line using the AcroRead.msi file with a transform file that was created using the Adobe Customization Wizard. Updates are disabled, serial number is included, etc.
Now, I'd like to use my PatchManager product to patch it, if I can. I have added the catalog for Adobe Acrobat DC and approved an update for Adobe Acrobat DC Update 15.006.30119.
On my test system, it does not detect the update so I'm assuming it is not needed.
Few questions:
- Am I selecting the correct update?
- Is this even possible in my deployment scenario?
- Have I shot myself in the foot by using the customized MSI and now I can't patch it through PatchManager?
- Is there a better way to do all of this? For example, can I just allow updates for the product through the customization wizard? Can the updates get installed without the local user having admin rights if I do this?
I have dealt with all of this before on Adobe Reader, but I'm new to Adobe Acrobat DC and was wondering if someone could help me with the changes. It is a very large package and I don't want to have to go through the uninstall/reinstall of the ENTIRE PACKAGE every time that an update is released. This is very impractical on Adobe's part, especially for companies that have a WAN in place.
I realize that I'm preaching to the choir here....anybody have ideas?
Thanks much in advance for your help.
