NPM 10.7 Beta 2 Now Available

Thanks to everyone that signed up for Beta 1 and the invaluable feedback. Beta 2 directly incorporates your suggestions into some of the features first seen in Beta 1 (NPM 10.7 Beta 1 Available) as well as introduces a few exciting new features.

Without further ado, let's go into some of the new features available in Beta 2:

Device Studio:

How many times have you setup a UnDP and said, "Boy- I wish these stats showed up natively..."?

Device Studio is a big step in this direction. Surfacing for the first time in Beta 2, Device Studio will allow you to map OIDs for CPU/Memory polling to existing nodes. So if for whatever reason NPM doesn't support pulling these stats out-of-the-box for a particular device, you can use Device Studio to configure polling. Once a Device Studio template ("Device Kit") is created, we will automatically scan and assign to other matching nodes. Web-based and easier to use than UnDP- Device Studio has us pretty excited. Right now we just support CPU / Memory stats, but one may imagine we won't stop there. We're still in the early phases of development for this feature, your feedback carries additional weight in determining the direction. Vote early and often.

OSPFv3 Route Support:

Speaking of routing- for you IPv6 guys out there- our route resources now support OSPFv3.

Beta 1 participants should have already received the new installer. Please let me know if we missed anyone.

Stay tuned for further developments.
