We are having an issue with automating the install of the agent on our servers, and would like some insight into what could be happening and any possible resolution. We can manually install the agent on our servers, but hitting multiple hundred by hand is tedious as well as is not a future-proof solution to automatically include the agent on new servers that are lit up.
Performing a push install the msiexec process ends up spawning two child processes and then hang around doing nothing until processes are killed or server is restarted. Installing via GPO using the msi and generated mst just does not work, and then when using the mst to try perform a silent install using [code]msiexec /i solarwinds-agent.msi /q transforms=solarwinds-agent.mst[/code] the error following error message "Importing Agent certificate failed. Failed. Failed to verify PFX HMAC with password." are displayed.
Is this an indication we need to generate a new certificate on the server, or is there something else that is standing out in regards to what we need to do?
